54" x 36"
acrylic, oil crayon, vinyl stickers, and pasted paper on canvas and wood
This is a 60s 70s and 80s inspired tropical scene. I was trying to capture the excitement of being in a Miami Paradise. You’ll notice the multiple eyes and disjointed imagery. This Basquiat inspired piece includes lettering from found newspaper, specifically a grocery advert. Above the beach babe a number is crossed out.
On the bottom is a piece of attached wood, which allows the flow of the piece to continue as well as offering a sort of ‘channel change.’
This large piece, stretching out beyond its 36 x 48 main section includes paper glued upon layers of paint and oil crayon. An exciting and bright work.
